Just read the bio on Vicki Hendricks' website, which mentions that Vicki has a 'day job' teaching at a college. I wish I could say I was surprised to learn that somebody so talented and apparently successful (with several published novels to her name) cannot make a living solely through her writing - but the truth is, I'm not surprised at all. It's all too typical of the way America treats its artists. Why don't Wall Street brokers have to find day jobs?
