Are there any Newton Thornburg fans here?
************** Oh yeah! I've only read CUTTER AND BONE, but I
loved it. Dialogue is an excellent gauge of an author's
capabilities, and Thornburg's was sharp, piercing, and
intelligent. Plot-wise it might not have been the best, but
that doesn't bother me much. Some of the best stuff I've ever
read didn't have much of a plot to it. There's a movie
version that starts out fairly true to the book, even using
some of the same dialogue, but it goes downhill as it
progresses and ends up a vapid failure.
Good to hear someone ring in on his other books. I'll keep
the ones you recommended in mind.
