As part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the
publication of THE MALTESE FALCON, an organization known as
the "Friends of the Library, USA" placed a plaque on the
apartment building at 891 Post where Hammett lived when he
wrote FALCON.
I was lucky enough to attend the dedication ceremony and also
had a chance to tour the apartment (#401) that Hammett
scholars believe to be his (and Spade's).
