That's odd - The Vancouver Sun rimpigs routinely changed all
my possessives to look like contractions, allegedly following
CP style. Of course they alos edited in spelling and fact
errors too so ...

To start with, right on the first
page, the possessive of Roberts is given
as Robert's. Off to a flying start. Similarly the
possessive of Eddings
becomes Edding's. Maybe I'm being finicky.
-- I was raised differently but when
I worked as reporter Canadian Press
style was Edding's, not Eddings'.
