I just finished TROPIC OF NIGHT not that long ago. I wouldn't
define it as hardboiled or noir (and I distrust the Amazon
recs as it is), but it was probably the scariest book I've
read in awhile. I suppose it's horror, but it's...
I don't know how to describe it, exactly. It's definitely
different. I did pick up VALLEY OF BONES, his second one,
before I even finished TROPIC, if that tells you
anything.
