Actually, that's how I first read it. I started reading
Thomas in the period between his death and his rediscovery
(with the attendant St. Martin's reprints). That meant
picking up titles when and where I could and often reading
them out of sequence. The earlier Mac and Padillo books
certainly give TWILIGHT added resonance, but the book stands
on its own.
