One can hardly bring up that series, without mentioning BREAKOUT by Richard Stark, which comes closest, post 2000, in quality to that of the original run of Parker novels. Unless, like some list members, you don't like the Parker series, in which case FIREBREAK comes closest.

Other of my post-2000 favourites are: EARTHQUAKE WEATHER; TWO-WAY SPLIT;
  CONS, SCAMS & GRIFTS; VOID MOON; A CLOD OF WAYWARD MARL; and anything by Rankin or Pelecanos.
