Tonight's episode of The Shield dealt with Narco Corrido,
songs which are supposed to be true stories about the Mexican
underworld. I found this book, Narcocorrido : A Journey into
the Music of Drugs, Guns, and Guerrillas by Elijah Wald. Wald
hitchhiked through northern Mexico and the southwestern US to
make contact with the singers, fans and subjects of the
songs. It sounds very interesting. Has anyone read this book?
