Absolutely. I've avoided reading the Lector books by Harris, but Highsmith's Ripley just creeps me out. In fact, reading anything by Highsmith usually gives me a creepy feeling.

I didn't realize there had been another Ripley book filmed. Now I'll have to look for it. That Malkovich stars makes me hopeful for a good piece of work.
