I hadn't thought of the Prather comparison when I read
MOMENT, but it's apt. My favorite (so far) Shell Scott,
PATTERN FOR PANIC (Prather's version of ONE LONELY NIGHT), is
also set in Mexico as are some of the short stories.
I found MOMENT enjoyable, but quite a let-down after its
Edgar-winning predecessor, ROOM TO SWING, which introduced
Touie.
