Didn't Greene's novel come after Greene's screenplay? Or am I mixing this up with Our Man in Havana?

Speaking of Greene adaptations, The Quiet American, just out on DVD, is pretty good. Michael Caine gives a very nice understated performance. It's nice to see him acting again, after a string of over the top roles.

Did anyone ever make a film of Brighton Rock? Was it any good? Who played Pinky?
