I noticed Luke portrayed as a Christ figure in the movie. I wonder if this is carried over from the book. Here in the last year or so I've seen a couple Christ images in hardboiled/noir novels, Hazel Motes in O'Connor's WISE BLOOD and Miss Lonelyhearts in West's novel.
