You forgot Lloyd Nolan as Mike Shayne in TIME TO KILL, which put Halliday's character in the plot of THE HIGH WINDOW, but the character wasn't Marlowe, he was Halliday's Mike Shayne. Similarly George Sanders wasn't playing Marlowe, he was playing a character created by Michael Arlen for a short story called "Gay Falcon." (Actually he was playing the Saint, and Leslie Charteris either proved it in court or at least got the studio to settle, but that's another story; in any case he wasn't playing Marlowe, he was playing a different character in a Chandler plot).

And who's this Gould guy everybody keeps bringing up?
