RARA-AVIS: Crime Fiction History Question

Thanks to everyone who answered the Lupin/LeBlanc question.

I seem to be mirroring everyone else's reading through the reading-by-decade mission, thus not many posts. From what I read, the Seventies were especially good: Cutter and Bone; The Last Good Kiss; The Charleston Knife's Back in Town -- all mentioned here. I'll throw one more 70s title out that I think didn't get its much-deserved mentioned: Jon A. Jackson's 1977 book (his first?), The Diehard.
