I believe Gilgamesh trumps Cain & Abel - The Epic of
Gilgamesh is the earliest known piece of literature, easily
predating the Old Testament - in fact, I understand scholars
believe that the story of the Flood was cribbed from the Epic
of Gilgamesh.
