I was recently reading Lovely Bones by Sebold and the killer
offers the girl a coke. She indicates she would like one and
he said he would get it for her later. There was a couple
more lines of dialogue between them and then the text says
and she swallowed down the last of her coke. I just put the
book down at that point.
