A friend of mine is trying to come up with the author and the
title of the book where the following line of dialogue can be
found:
"Shut up," he explained.
He says it's from a hard-boiled detective novel, and I have
to admit it sounds familiar to me, but I can't place it,
either. Anybody have any idea?
