I've got to agree with Todd that the disclaimer smacks of the
standard
"any persons living or dead" quote that seems only to be
placed on books, movies, TV shows that are clearly based on
real people and events. Law & Order has a variation,
something like: "Although based on real events, . . ." Would
a disclaimer like that actually work in staving off lawsuits?
Somehow I doubt it.
