it might be of interest to HB people, I've got a feeling it was an early role for Russel Crowe (??).... Any news fit to print Rene? Colin, short back and sides.

Aside from being an excellent film, IMO, ROMPER STOMPER gave you a pretty accurate picture of Aussie skinhead culture at the time the film was made, except the skins that I used to see around were more into terrorising inner-city art student types than organised gangs of Vietnamese youth. I liked it much better than AMERICAN HISTORY X which I found to be preachy & a bit pat in its notions. (Although Ed Norton, who I just saw on the box in FIGHT CLUB a couple of days after AMERICAN HISTORY X is a very fine actor, excellent performances in both.) Russell Crowe was indeed in ROMPER STOMPER, one of his finest performances (far better than GLADIATOR, a much over-rated flick, IMO. And it goes without saying that his acting is far better than his musical ability or his manners). I forget the name of the guy who played his best bud in the film but he was brilliant. Unfortunately, he committed suicide not long after the film.
