Miker: I have read THE GOOD BROTHER, but only after reading
the short story collection OUT OF THE WOODS, which I liked a
bit better and does have a few hardboiled moments. Like you,
I'm normally prefer novels to short stories. In the case of
Offutt, I think his short stories pack more of a punch. The
same is true for me w/ Larry Brown.
