Apropos of GM month:
It is my opinion that John D. MacDonald is the most
overlooked and underappreciated of the great PI
writers--although technically he is not a PI.
I think what holds readers back is that the wrote
first-person from Travis's point of view and his description
was often picturesque rather than bleak.
I like some of his non-McGees even better than the
McGees.
