RARA-AVIS: more McGivern/Philly

From: Forstater, Mathew ( ForstaterM@umkc.edu)

Don't recall if anyone mentioned that The Big Heat takes place in Philly. This time he names it. I'm just a few pages in, but we have Broad Street, Market Street, Arch St. described in detail, murder in Fairmount Park, Germantown, Northeast, Spruce St., West Philly, Schuykill River, etc. The East River/Kelly/Lincoln/Wissahickon Drives out of Center City to Germantown are described, but not by name.

Also, the book is dedicated to Earl Selby of the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin (R.I.P.).
