As long as we're on the topic of Ellroy, I just want to
comment that SUICIDE HILL, which follows BECAUSE THE NIGHT in
the Lloyd Hokins Trilogy, is fantastic. As an introduction to
Ellroy, SUICIDE HILL is, for my money, the best place to
start. At least that's how it worked for me. Eight years ago
or so, SUICIDE HILL got me geared up to finally tackle the
L.A. QUARTET.
