No, I think he does it for the same reason that Parker makes the intelligent, female psychiatrist Jewish. These characters are racial stereotypes that Parker then makes into superheroes. And once the quality of the series has declined to that, there is no redeeming value to make it worth reading.

I mean: have a code regardless of what that code might be? That must be the emptiest bit of hypocrisy in the genre. Braver to be without answers, and admit it.
