Gee, I'm embarrassed about this one. Here we are talking
about films, and adaptations of hard-boiled literatchur and
all that, and it seems Samuel Jackson's right here in
Montreal, filming an adaptation of a Dashiell Hammett's "The
House on Turk Street," and I'm the last to know.
NO GOOD DEED is currently shooting, with Bob Rafelson
directing. Milla Jovovich, Stellan Skarsgard and Doug
Hutchison also star. But Jackson is a cop, not the Op, who
tries to help a friend find his missing daughter. Still, it's
Hammett, and some of the people involved have done some very
good work. Director Bob Rafelson did The Postman Always Rings
Twice, Black Widow, Blood and Wine and Five Easy Pieces, and
Steve Barancik did The Last Seduction. And Jackson was in
Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and, uh, Shaft.
