I thoroughly enoy the Burke books and Vachss in general,
although I never got into the Cross material (he included
short "Cross" stories in the "Born Bad" and "Everybody Pays"
short story collections). In fact, I'm about to crack open
one of the latest, "Choice of Evil", in a little bit, after
my work shift slows down (graveyard shifts, you know, have
their periods of dead time). Vachss is one of the best
hard-boiled writers going. --Brian
