RARA-AVIS: Patrick Hamilton

For the past year I have been reading the novels of Patrick Hamilton. He sort of reminds me of Patricia Highsmith - especially with the Tom Ripley series. I don't know if he's hard boiled, but he is for sure a very disturbing writer who focuses on the lonely, the drunk, and the psychopath.

I strongly recommend his work. Especially Hangover Square and the Gorse Trilogy. Also Slaves of Solitude.
