I just picked up the paperback of Don Winslow's California
Fire and Life. I looked it up in the archives and based on
the opinions there, I'm looking forward to reading it.
However, I've got a question. The copyright page says this is
Copyright 2001 (with a 2001 Library of Congress catalog
number), with a publication date of May 2001. No mention is
made there of the earlier hardback edition, though they quote
three pages of reviews of it, plus note Shamus Award Winner
on the cover. So why does this have a new copyright date? Did
Winslow make changes to it? Was the copyright reassigned?
What?
Also, I never saw an answer in the earlier Winslow discussion
to the question of whether or not he was the same Don Winslow
who wrote a series of erotica books set at a girls boarding
sscool. Anyone know?
