Nor does he say that Ellroy's earlier books are far better than
"Tabloid" and, perhaps, "Cold Six Thousand". The LA quarter will likely to be Ellroy's "Finnegans Wake" and "Ulysses" put together (with "The Portrait of an Artist" and "The Dead").
