OK, so some of you saw the subject line and thought I'd sent a message to the wrong list. I don't blame you. But the truth is that "Doc" Smith of Skylark of Space fame wrote a private-eye novel in about 1960. I'm not sure whether it's hardboiled, but it's supposedly in the style of novels written 30 years earlier. I just got my copy from Advent: Press today.
