RARA-AVIS: Howard Browne's INCREDIBLE INK

Thinking of picking up the above book - any comments on it? Worth dropping the big bucks on? Having never read Browne, is he of the hardboiled school...or is this more straight-forward gumshoe/detective material? I just finished NO GOOD FROM A CORPSE, another McMillan collection by Leigh Brackett and particularly enjoyed the mixture of hardboiled suspense dramas and the typical mystery fare. How does Browne's compare?
