RARA-AVIS: November is ... Richard Stark month!

From: William Denton ( buff@pobox.com)

I hereby declare November to be the first of our themed months, and the theme will be Richard Stark! Stark, as you probably all know, is the pseudonym Donald Westlake uses when he writes books about Parker, the stone cold professional thief. He writes the Grofield books as Stark too, doesn't he?

There's a new Parker book coming out in November, FLASHFIRE, and anyone who's able to get a copy can read it and comment (with appropriate spoiler warnings, of course). All other Richard Stark books are fair game, as are Westlake's decades of contributions to the world of the hardboiled, movie adaptations, how Parker fits into the hardboiled pantheon, etc. Read any Parker books you can get your hands on and say something about them.

I hereby give advance warning that December will be ... Mike Shayne month!

Bill
