RARA-AVIS: Hardboiled Lineup

From: Jiro Kimura ( jkimura@nsknet.or.jp)
Date: 15 Oct 2000

Someone asked about The Hardboiled Lineup (Lion pb, 1956, 128pp). Incidentally, Lion papebacks are rare these days. I happened to find this anthology today. It was mentioned in INDEX TO MYSTERY AND CRIME ANTHOLOGIES.

It is edited by Harry Widmer, not by Ron Goulart. Contents are:
"Las Vegas Trap," by William R. Cox
"Justice Is Blind," by Ad Gordon
"Hot Snow," by Vin Packer
"Living Bait," by Frederick Lorenz
"Scented Clues," by Richard Deming
"Die, Darling, Die," by Gil Brewer
"The Trouble with Alibis," by John Mulhern
"Don't Go Away Mad," by Robert Turner
"Sinkhole." by James P. Webb

These 9 stories are all from Justice magazine, one of the Manhunt wanna-bes.
