I have it. Just saw it last week. What a great picture. The DVD does indeed have both versions, plus a short feature showing comparisons of the two and explanations of the changes. The release version is the best, by far, but the older version has a couple of bits that are very nice.

Makes me want to go back and read the book for the twelfth time.
