Let me see if I have this right.
Someone is going to present a college course containing
materials all of us care about and enjoy. Some of the
students may have never encountered hard-boiled and noir
before. The worst that can happen is that the teacher chooses
inferior works or interprets them badly, but even if that
happens, the students get a look at the material. The teacher
came here asking for material suggestions.
Wow, what a terrible person.
All those who have flamed him from a
safe distance are such courageous souls. I'm sure glad
they're doing all they can to keep our precious hard-boiled
stuff out of undeserving hands.
