Re: RARA-AVIS: The Long Good Friday

Highly recommended. Bob Hoskins, in particular, is great. This and Get Carter strike me as two essential Brit Crime movies,

Sorta speaking of which, when I first saw Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, I had the impression that Guy Ritchie was a UK Tarantino, piecing together scenes from various Brit crime movies to come up with a new film. However, due to my limited knowledge of those films, I felt that I was probably missing many of the references. So can anyone recommend other Brit crime movies worth seeing?

Mark

ps -- Long Good Friday trivia -- Hoskins was sampled by Big Audio Dynamite on their first album; and look for a very brief cameo by Pierce Brosnan near the end.
