Until he got his chance in movies, writer-director Bergman(Blazing Saddles, Fletch, Striptease) wrote two mystery novels, HOLLYWOOD AND LEVINE and KISS-OFF featuring PI Jack Levine. They are similar to Kaminsky's Toby Peters' series except Levine is not as much of a klutz as Peters. I liked HOLLYWOOD better. It featured Bogart participating in much of the action. Mark
