Shell Scott is great fun; for the late lamented TAD I once
wrote an article continuing and updating QUEEN'S QUORUM, Fred
Dannay's list of important short story collections. I
included Prather's HAVE GAT -- WILL TRAVEL (Gold Medal,
1957). I met Prather at a Bouchercon around 13 or 14 years
ago, and corresponded with him briefly. Nice guy. Last I
heard he was living in new Mexico or Arizona (I always get
those 2 states confused), and must now be in his late
70's.
