I know this is probably hopelessly off-topic, but the topic
of hard-boiled music has occasionally popped up here on this
list.
I just thought I'd mention that a collection of some of
Johnny Cash's crime-oriented stuff from the last, what? forty
or or so years was released this week, promisingly entitled
MURDER. Some of this stuff, such as DELIA'S GONE, is just
relentlessly, positively vicious. Cave, Waits, Zevon et al
are just fine, but this is the real deal when it comes to
hard-boiled music. Accept no substitutes.
