RARA-AVIS: Mission Impossible Twice?

I just heard on the tube that Robert Towne (who wrote Chinatown) also wrote the new Tom Cruise release. I am curious to hear what rara-avians think of the script. Yes, we must make allowances for the billions of dollars spent on hyping this new variation on Raging Bullets, but does anyone notice any Towne-ian trademarks?

P.S. I am not opposed to any writer being paid too much to write crap. That is the American Dream.
