To add to the Charles Williams list...

Another title for The Long Saturday Night is Confidentially Yours, which was filmed in 1983 by Francois Truffaut and released as a paperback movie tie-in under that title (CY)...a pretty great book but I havn't seen the movie.

This list of films adapted from/written by Charles Williams comes from the Internet Movie Database:

Hot Spot, The (1990/I) (also novel Hell Hath No Fury) Dead Calm (1989) (novel) Mieux vaut courir (1989) (TV) (novel Man on the Run) Vivement dimanche! (1983) (novel The Long Saturday Night)
... aka Confidentially Yours (1983)
... aka Finally, Sunday (1983) Fantasia chez les ploucs (1971) (story) Deep, The (1970) (novel Dead Calm) Pink Jungle, The (1968) Don't Just Stand There! (1968) (also novel The Wrong Venus) F鬩ns, Les (1964) (also dialogue)
... aka Joy House (1964) (USA)
... aka Love Cage, The (1964) Arme ࠧauche, L' (1964) (also novel Aground)
... aka Armas para el Caribe (1966) (Spain: dubbed version)
... aka Corpo a corpo (1964) (Italy)
... aka Dictator's Guns, The (1964) (USA)
... aka Guns for the Dictator (1964) Peau de banane (1963) (novel)
... aka Banana Peel (1963) (USA)

As with Goodis, it seems Williams was more highly regarded in France than at home.
