One of the top opening lines from the Great Opening Lines section of the Rara Avis FAQ is 'They threw me off the hay truck about noon' and another is 'It was a wandering daughter job', together with '"My name is Ronald Ames," said Samuel Spade'.

Those three are from memory, so they might not be absolutely right.
