Guitarist Link Wray is the most hardboiled R&R I know. His slow strum of minor chords and sudden bursts of fast runs create an aura of menace which matches the best of HB. Also try the Las Vegas Grind, Jungle Exotica series. though they're not as consistent as Link. The ultimate HB soundtrack would be Mancini's Touch of Evil, though.
