I like Marcia's straightforward style, though I do agree that the trend nowadays is for length.

My publishing company Crippen & Landru (www.crippenlandru.com) just issued Marcia's McCONE AND FRIENDS, containg 8 McCone short stories--and there can be no complaint about excessive length in any if them.
