If not the best, certainly the
originator, and the tuning fork for most of the music
produced thereafter. The "Hammett was the best," "Chandler
was the best," argument will rage forever, and as years go
by, the nominations for best continue to roll out.
Nevertheless, I'll agree that if you don't like Hammett,
hardboiled probably ain't going to become your favorite
thing.
