Thought I'd post this link for anyone who hasn't yet discovered it. Fascinating collection of pulp covers, hard-boiled and otherwise. It makes me wonder about other genres in pulp: drugs (I've read and highly recommend William S Burrough's JUNKY, which is pretty hard-boiled and readily available), juvenile delinquent, hot rod, and the early sex novels (very tame by today's standards, but from the covers very interesting).
