Because a friend of mine played bridge with him, I know Don Von Elsner lived near Hilo when he was still writing. I'm familiar with his series featuring bridge pro Jake Winkman. Jake of DIAMONDS/How To Succeed at Murder Without Really Trying, is set in Honolulu. The two others in the series, Jack of Hearts and Ace of Spies are not set there, but you might check his other books. Mark
