after my last semi-obnoxious post i got to thinking about the
jayhawkers, and that brought to mind bradley denton, a texas
writer whose book blackburn is something you all must read,
if you have not already done so. he has several SF books in
print as well as others of not-readily-pigeonholed character,
and blackburn SHOULD qualify as hardboiled for some of you.
at any rate, in his short story collection, one day closer to
death, st. martin's, the jayhawkers appear in the first
story, the territory. the collection also includes more about
blackburn's history. http:/www.dennismcmillan.com
