(By the way, I'd add Jonathan Valin, Max Byrd, Leigh Brackett
(No Good From
a Corpse), Thomas H. Cook (the Frank Clemons books), Gaylord
Dold, Rob
Kantner, Craig Rice, Erle Stanley Gardner (esp. the A.A. Fair
books), Sue
Grafton, Jeremiah Healy, Liza Cody, Peter Corris, Jerome
Doolittle, Dick
Francis (the Sid Halley books), Delores Hitchens (the Sleep
books), Robert
Martin, William Ard, etc., etc., etc...hey, this list thing
is
addictive....)
Speaking of which (notice the funky segue), I've been asked
to compile a
Christmas wish list for private eye fans. I'm thinking
non-books, here,
mostly, but any suggestions? What would you guys like under
your tree this
year? This is sorta off-topic, so probably e-mailing me
off-list is fine.
Eventually, I'll post the suggestions on my site.
Also, once again, I'm posting some new P.I. fiction on my
site. It's a
short story"Hit and Run," by Christopher Mills, and I think
it's pretty
good, but what do I know? Anyone who's interested is welcome
to go check it
out and let me know what they think...
