Much as yours truly hates to admit (coughs, swallows hard, clears throat
repeatedly, taps microphone, looks around helplessly), said yours truly
has never made the acquaintance of Mr. Thorp's work. There, I feel
better already...

I'll add him to the list of current authors to look out for. In fact,
I've seen his books at stores but I didn't know he was a hardboiled
writer.

Thanks for the tip. It's always good to pass on these tips. Although the
previous sentence looks like it took years of Chomskyan research in
order to produce total and unresolvable ambiguity, it happened by
chance. But let's not get into linguistics, that masculine-dominated
area of academic importence. Stop, dammit, stop!
